We always prefer our fruits in their ripe form, but sometimes, just sometimes, raw is the new ripe. Raw papaya is a well-known ingredient in Thai food and covers under its umbrella a range of benefits for human body. I’m not a big fan of papaya but I love it in its raw form.
Busy schedules call for quick recipes, so here is a simple recipe of green papaya salad for all health enthusiasts along with why you should make raw papaya your friend forever.
- Raw papaya
- Cheese (optional)
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Italian seasoning
- Black pepper
- Sugar ( optional)
Method: Cut the ingredients in your preferred way ( I mixed and matched) and gather them in a big bowl. Make a dressing of fresh lime juice, extra virgin olive oil, Italian seasoning, black pepper, and a pinch of salt in a separate bowl; you can also add a pinch of sugar for a sweet and sour taste. Pour the dressing on the cut ingredients and mix well. Grate some cheese on the top and dig in!
